When Reality Bites

It was love at first sight. Everything stopped for us and he was staring at me, and I, back at him. It was that feeling of "this is it." This is the person meant for me. This is THE ONE. This person is the reason why all my other relationships did not work out. Is this really happening to me? I must have done something right then.

Our eyes spoke volumes that words could not express. We held hands with the vow to not let each other go. He inched closer to me, our noses touching, and then his lips...

"GISING NA EYT OKLAK NA! Diba nagpapagising ka nun?" (Wake up it's 8am already!)

So much for dreaming.

The White Haired Stranger

I was around 16 years old when this happened but for some unknown reason, I have past incidences of what I can probably call spiritual occurrences but they were through dreams. Dreaming of the dead and such since I was eight. But my very first encounter was when I was in kindergarten, a ghostly hand coercing at me from an acacia tree where our slide was.

Our neighborhood was not yet that crowded with many houses. There were vacant lots on both sides of our house. I had some form of fascination with the moon and admired it that much. I sometimes gaze at the empty lot just outside my bedroom window during full moons. I shared that bedroom with my sister.

There were times that the aura of the room felt heavy. There are times the door would open or close without the hint of wind. I always talk to our "room" telling whoever or whatever is frightening us to leave us alone. Well, it does not hurt if I do that I guess.

We always leave a window open so that cool wind can come in. Well, our neighbor just across our house had lots of dogs. They howl sometimes but just that week, they were howling approximately 10 PM in the evening then at 3 am. I am actually scared writing this down. But I am not scared when I tell the story to somebody.

But that night, there was a blackout. We only had one electric fan in the room. My sister asked me to transfer beside her because she was scared. But she is never scared even in the dark. Still I complied, so I slept beside her. I was lying near our desk where our electric fan was.

Around 3 am there was this wind, I thought there was electricity already. There were these dog howls but I disregarded them. I took a closer look at the electric fan to see if the electricity has come back. I guess not. I tried to take my 3310 cellphone and looked at the time. I placed it back under my pillow. Then and there, I saw this white figure of a man with long white flowing hair which was as soft as the wind. He was big but wore white sleeveless clothing. He had muscular arms but he had no face and he seemed to float in a squatting position at the edge of the bed where my sister's feet are. The weird thing was, he was looking at me with that blank face.

Scared the hell out of my wits, I quickly shut my eyes and stick my skin near my sister's, who was sound asleep. I forced myself to sleep.

Wish it wouldn't happen again!

Though I sense it was a good ghost or whatever it was. For me, I considered him as an "engkanto", an earthbound spirit who has been watching the house since the beginning.

Anyway, he is not the only one in the house. There are around three of them. The doppelganger, the little girl and him. Though occurrences are rare but not harmful, and they do protect the house.

Well, as far as my siblings and I believe.
That is why, I wouldn't like to show my real name because it might ruin our family business. Especially if they think ghosts roam the house.

Occurrences don't happen often. Maybe this time, you might feel them. Maybe this time, you won't. It is like having visions. They don't happen to be there when you seek them. It maybe years when you feel a presence again.

Have a good night! Everyone.

8 Ways on How to Mend a Broken Heart

How do you mend a broken heart?  According to Michael Bolton, TIME, LOVE AND TENDERNESS.  Iba’t ibang pamamaraan para to heal a broken heart.

  1. Finding a new love?  To forget an old one you have to find a new one???!!?? To me I don’t agree, because mas malaki ang possibility na magiging panakit butas lang siya.  You have to heal yourself first, kailangan buo ka ulit. Gagawin mo lang pantapal ung new love mo? Di ba kawawa naman siya, and you wouldn’t want to be in that situation di ba. Remember the Golden Rule: don’t do unto others what you don’t want do unto you.
  2. Keep yourself busy.  This would work, the more busy you are, mas wala ka ng time mag emote and mag mukmok.
  3. Avoid listening to love song.  Please never ever listen to love songs pag broken hearted. Don’t torture yourself.
  4. Stop talking about your EX all the time..  It’s ok naman na I-release mo ang pain and heartache mo sa friends mo. They would listen and comfort you.
  5. Good Friend, good company.  True friends are always there for you, they would definitely try to cheer you up. Try mo mag enjoy you will feel good afterwards.
  6. TIME, LOVE AND TENDERNESS…. Love may left you crying and heart broken, Remember it’s the lover not the love who broke your heart. It’s not easy to move on.  Give yourself time, di naman kasi instant yan pagkatapos mo umiyak e ok na.  TIME, heals all wound, so gradually magiging ok rin, hurt won’t last forever.  LOVE, get all the love you can get sa friends and family, they will always give you unconditonal love.
  7. I know it’s easier said than done.  I’ve been there and its feels like HELL!!! But we need to move on and accept if it’s not meant to be.  So cheer up it’s not like end of the world.  Someday you laugh at the pain, you laugh at the heartache. There’s a better person for you.

Journey to the Past

We don't want to live our life na maraming what-ifs. We always want closure in every chapter of our life. O you would just let it go and go on with your life?  How can you face the future if the past is holding you back?

Recently I did something na di ko akalain na magagawa ko, though di ko naman ginawa ito mag-isa siyempre with the help of my lokaret na friend.  Lately lagi ko kasi napapanaginipan yun ex ko, and it's different from my past dreams, it made me restless and uneasy, di ko alam bakit ko siya napapanaginipan.

One crazy Tuesday morning, I was telling this to my lokaret friend, she asked me if want to recoonect with him, sabi ko oo naman pero paano? Wala na akong balita about him, and yun landline niya nakalimutan ko na din.  She tried finding info thru internet.  My friend suggested na we try calling his alma mater ask for info.  I asked her a favor if she could do it for me, and siyempre being a lokaret and good friend she called the school, hoping we could get his contact number, alam ko naman na suntok sa buwan, because they wont give information kasi confidential.  The girl from the school told my friend to email a formal request.  So that night I sent the email, naisip ko what else is to lose and probably they wont give importance to my email, since it's a personal request and ayaw ko din umasa.
Unexpectedly after 2 days.  I received an email from the school!!!! Informing me that she called him unfortunately he is not around, nag leave na lang daw ng message for him to return call.  I was speechless, did she really call him!!??!! Di ko kasi inexpect that she would exert effort.  I am so grateful to her.

It's been a long time since last kami nag usap and nagkita. Natanggap ba niya yun message? Gusto ba niya ako kausapin?

I have done all i can possibly do.  No regrets in the future.  I pray to  GOD, Thy will be done. If I dont get any feedback then maybe its for the best.  I may keep wondering for the rest of my life, but everything happens for a reason.

Stupid Love

Does first love die naturally or it never ever dies?

Do guys ever forget their first love? Do they move on easily than girls? Do they always say things to make pa-asa sa girls like "aayusin ko lang yun problema, babalikan kita" #hugot

It's hard to admit, but yes I still yearn for my first love, ever after 2 decades of nothing.  YES!!!! 20 years had passed since he broke up with me.  I thought I have moved on, but the truth is NO.

Balete Drive

Balete Drive in New Manila, Quezon City.  Known for its “ang babae sa Balete Drive.”

I was speechless di ko alam how that happened.

Mystery or guni guni lang?

Gulong ng Palad

It was a good day for a motorcade / parade. There was this even in school where everyone has to join. You know, some event like Foundation Day, Intramurals, <Insert Subject> Week Celebration. I couldn't remember so much.

Anyway, there was this pick-up in front of us and someone jumped onto it while it was moving. Well, it was moving rather slow since it was a parade and most are on foot. So some of us did the same and hopped on the pick-up, including yours truly.

"Tara baba na tayo!" said some friends. They all jumped successfully except for me. Little did I know that you must not jump off a moving vehicle. Gumulong gulong ako for like forever in front of our schoolmates (parade yun diba) na parang action movie lang.

How I wished the ground would have opened and swallowed me whole at that time.

Monito Monita

Back in grade school, I was first introduced to the Filipino-style Monito Monita. I absolutely had no idea that it was the exchanging of gifts. So here comes a classmate telling me, hey wanna exchange. I was like ok.

I was kinda slow in understanding things. Here comes our teacher telling us to put all our gifts in front. One by one, she raises each gift and yung tatanggap ng gift will claim it in front.

Needless to say, laglag IQ ko. When she raised my gift (the one I'm supposed to give to someone else), I raised my hand and well, niregaluhan ko sarili ko.

Teacher laughed and gave me a pack of candies. Really, what was I thinking?

Friend Zone

Friend zone. Yung tipong akala mo more than friends kayo pero ooopss we’re just friends. It’s normal to be friends with the opposite sex and develop feelings for them later on. It can be mutual or one-sided.

It would be nice if the feeling is mutual, kasi sabi nila the best foundation for a strong relationship is friendship.

Pero paano pag one-sided lang? Yan ang masaklap, kasi it would hurt so much, lalo na if you are getting the wrong signal. We always talk on the phone for hours. Very sweet and thoughtful siya. I tried to hold back my feelings pero mahirap gawin dahil pilit kumakawala si feelings. Eventually nalaman din niya ang feelings ko for him.

At what happened next is he started avoiding me and things are different between us. I confronted him and he answered me kasi may feelings ka daw sa akin, ayaw ko masaktan kita kasi hanggang friendship lang kaya ko ibigay sa yo. BOOM! FRIEND ZONED. Kaya mga girls and boys never assume na dahil lang sweet and thoughtful un friend mo sa iyo doesn’t mean he/she has feelings for you. Saklap.

3-Day Sale

I was a sucker for sale. My "income" was only my allowance so everytime SM has its 3-day sale, I'm almost always present. I shop for tops and jeans mostly. I'd go through the throngs of people just to get those teeny weeny 5% or 10% off.

After going out of the nth store, I still haven't found anything worthwhile to buy. I noticed people looking at me as they walked by. I was like, wow and ganda ko! As I touched the front of my shirt I felt something coarse.

Imagine my embarrassment when I saw that I was wearing my tshirt inside out!

That was the time I lost interest in 3-day sale events.

Bata-batuta

Best Friend

Friends come and go. They will come into your life unexpectedly and you will just click.

When I was in grade 5, may bago kaming classmate, transferee. We fondly call him Kuya Eddie, obviously kasi mas senior siya sa amin.

During our language subject, Ms Valencia, our teacher told us, "Ok class, who is your best friend in this room? Write something about him/her."

Then our teacher called our Kuya Eddie asking him who is your bestfriend.  He stood up and said a name na wala naman ganun name sa room namin. Ms. Valencia asked us ok who is she please stand up, nobody standing up.

Then she's wondering bakit walang tumatayo, sabi na lang ng teacher namin ituro mo na lang kung sino siya.  All of the sudden lahat ng classmate namin nakatingin sa akin, because Kuya Eddie was pointing his finger at me!!!!

Ako pala un best friend niya, mali naman kasi un name ko and surname.  I could feel the my face heating up, nahihiya ako kasi lahat ng mga classmate namin and my teacher was laughing, eventually I found myself laughing na din.  I appreciate what he wrote about me, kahit mali ang name ko

Who could tell na this is a start of a beautiful friendship?  We've been best friends ever since.  We lost contact after graduating from high school, but thanks to social media we have reconnected recently.

Believe It or Not

Minsan may naamoy akong sense ng candle or flowers, minsan may nakikitang shadow na parang may tao, but my mom would always tell me na ignore ko daw mga ganun.

This is one experience I can't forget. There's always a story about sa school being haunted, dahil before daw it was a church or it was a graveyard during WW2, iba't ibang kwento.

When I was in grade 3, I was early that day kasi cleaner ako. It was around 7:00am and I was busy cleaning, di ko napansin na mag isa na lang pala ako sa classroom, then on the side window may nakita akong shadow nagulat ako kasi naglakad siya pero walang ulo.

Up to now it's still a mind blogging for me, imagination or totoo?

Ikaw may kakaibang experience ka din ba?

Puppy Crush

Kids today are different. We were conservative back then that even holding hands was considered taboo.

So here I was, in prep, paired with a cute kid for my seatmate.

4 or 5 years old during that time, I can't help but marvel at the creation beside me. Even though we were seatmates, I just need to get even closer. Being the child that I am, what I did was get closer and closer and my seatmate was like moving farther and farther away because I was invading his personal space. But I was persistent and I got my way. I was able to put my cheek next to his. LOL!
